Machining Trainee / Technician

Yeovil Area

£12.71 - £14.00 per hour

35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, Day Shift

Our client is seeking a Machining Trainee / Technician to join their friendly production team, manufacturing high-precision engineering components.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to begin a career in engineering or for an individual with previous machining experience who is looking for their next challenge. Full training will be provided for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities:

Carrying out various machining and associated manufacturing processes
Mounting, machining, cleaning, and inspecting precision components
Reading and following engineering drawings and work instructions
Completing quality checks to ensure products meet required standards
Adhering to Health & Safety and COSHH regulations at all times
Working as part of a small, supportive production team

Candidate Requirements:

Level 2 or Level 3 Engineering qualification preferred
Good attention to detail and willingness to learn
Ability to follow technical instructions and work to high standards
Previous machining experience is advantageous for Technician-level applicants

Salary:

Trainee: £12.71 - £13.31 per hour

Suitable for candidates with little or no machining experience
Engineering Level 2/3 qualification desirable

Technician: £13.69 - £14.00 per hour

Previous machining experience required
Engineering Level 2/3 qualification preferred
