Introduction
Acorn by Synergie is recruiting for experienced Industrial Door Engineers to join our client's team.
This role involves installing, servicing, repairing and attending emergency call-outs for a variety of industrial and automatic door systems. The position is national, and successful candidates will be required to work away from home for a large percentage of the time, including occasional weekends and travel to site locations across the UK.

Key Duties / Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain and repair industrial doors, automatic doors, roller shutters, sectional doors, high-speed doors and fire doors.
- Diagnose faults and carry out timely and effective repairs.
- Perform routine servicing while ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
- Maintain accurate service records and reports.
- Provide excellent customer service and liaise professionally with clients.
- Attend emergency call-outs as required.
- Travel nationally and work away from home for a significant proportion of the role.
Requirements
Essential Requirements
- Proven experience in the installation, servicing and repair of industrial and/or automatic doors.
- Strong knowledge of industry regulations and safety standards.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to obtain security clearance for government projects.
- Ability to work away from home for a large percentage of the time, including occasional weekends.
- Candidates must be born in the UK and hold a UK Passport.
Preferred Requirements
- Full UK driving licence.
Additional Requirements for Electricians
- Fully qualified to the latest UK electrical standards (e.g. City & Guilds 2365, NVQ Level 3, or equivalent).
- City & Guilds 2391 or 2394/2395 Inspection & Testing qualification (or equivalent).
- ECS Gold Card or equivalent industry-recognised certification.
- Proven experience in fault finding and wiring control panels.
- Experience with industrial containment systems.
Desirable Requirements
- Experience working on secure or high-risk sites.
- Knowledge of high-security or automated door systems.
- IPAF, PASMA or SSSTS certifications.
- Forklift or Telehandler licence.
