Introduction

Acorn by Synergie is recruiting a Trainee Quality Control Operative to join a manufacturing team in Redruth.

The overall goal of the Quality Control role is to prevent incorrectly made products from being sent to customers, helping to maintain customer satisfaction and comply with legal and regulatory requirements.

As a Quality Control Operative, you will be responsible for ensuring manufactured products are made to the correct specification and meet customer and regulatory requirements. You will also maintain product inspection records and assist in monitoring quality performance before products are dispatched.

Previous Quality Control experience is an advantage but is not essential, as full training will be provided.

Key Responsibilities

Final Inspection:

• Carry out final inspection and verification of custom-made products before dispatch.

• Check dimensions against the required specification.

• Check colour against the customer specification.

• Check correct orientation, including Right (R) and Left (L).

• Check fastenings against the required specification.

• Check labelling details.

• Check trimming and stitching.

• Carry out metal detection to ensure there are no pins, needle fragments or other metal contamination in the finished product.

• Check overall product quality and conformity with customer requirements.

In-Production & Final Inspection:

• Carry out in-production and final inspections of stock.

• Ensure products meet all relevant specifications and customer requirements.

• Identify and report any non-conforming products.

• Prevent products that do not meet the required standard from being dispatched.

Non-Conforming Product & Corrective Action:

• Create and maintain accurate records of non-conforming products.

• Work with the Supervisor and Factory Manager to identify suitable rework, corrections or corrective actions.

• Assist in investigating quality issues and identifying potential causes.

• Monitor non-conformities and help identify recurring problems.

Records & Equipment:

• Keep accurate records of product inspections using Mestec and paper-based records.

• Ensure inspection records are completed accurately and in a timely manner.

• Maintain appropriate product and quality documentation.

• Ensure measuring equipment is maintained in good working order.

• Adhere to production and inspection schedules.
