Introduction
Acorn by Synergie is working with a specialist manufacturer in the Brecon area who are seeking an experienced Toolmaker & Mechanical Fitter on a permanent basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Toolmaker, Mechanical Fitter, Mechanical Engineer, or Engineering Technician to join a specialist manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing, machining, fitting, assembling, installing, servicing, and repairing mechanical components and equipment to the required quality, safety, and delivery standards.
Working from engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions, you will manufacture high-quality components, carry out machining and assembly tasks, and ensure completed work meets required standards before handover, dispatch, or installation.

Key Duties
- Produce high-quality components on time and to engineering drawing requirements.
- Carry out CNC machining, tool setting, drilling, tapping, and fitting tasks as required.
- Manufacture and assemble new machines and mechanical components prior to dispatch.
- Support with component inspections, maintenance, health and safety tasks.
- Ensure all tools, equipment, materials, and PPE are prepared, checked, and in good condition.
Requirements
- Relevant mechanical engineering, machining, toolmaking, apprenticeship, or equivalent experience.
- Experience within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
- Practical experience of machining, tool setting, drilling, tapping, fitting, and assembly.
- Materials handling industry exposure is desirable.
- Familiarisation with the requirements of ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 is desirable.
- Competent in the use of Microsoft Office 365 and CAD/CAM software (Autodesk Fusion).
- Full UK driving licence is required.
