Introduction

Acorn by Synergie is recruiting experienced Oxy Propane Burners to join a well-established demolition contractor working on a long-term project in Port Talbot.

This is an excellent opportunity for experienced Oxy Fuel Cutters, Burning Operatives, or Demolition Operatives looking for long-term work with overtime opportunities.

Key Duties

• Carry out oxy-propane cutting of scrap metal safely and efficiently.

• Cut and process steel and other metals in line with project requirements.

• Operate oxy-propane cutting equipment in accordance with site procedures.

• Follow all health and safety regulations and safe systems of work.

• Maintain equipment and report any defects or safety concerns.

• Support the demolition team with general site duties when required.

Requirements

• Proven experience cutting scrap metal using an oxy-propane torch.

• Oxy-Propane Cutting Certificate, NVQ Level 2 Welding, or equivalent qualification (required for CIS payment).

• Valid CCNSG Safety Passport (or willingness to obtain).

• Previous experience within demolition, scrap, recycling, or heavy industrial environments.

• Good level of physical fitness due to the manual nature of the role.

• Full UK driving licence.

• Reliable with a strong commitment to health and safety.

What We Offer

• £14.50 per hour PAYE.

• £18.50 per hour CIS (for suitably qualified candidates).

• Minimum 3-month contract with the potential for a longer-term assignment.

• Monday to Friday working pattern.

• 52.5 hours per week.

• Weekend overtime available when required.

• Ongoing support from Acorn by Synergie throughout your assignment.
