Introduction

Acorn by Synergie is proud to be working in partnership with Honeywell to recruit an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer, Aerospace Design Engineer, CAD Design Engineer, or Siemens NX Design Engineer to join their engineering team in Yeovil, Somerset.

This is an exciting opportunity to work on innovative aerospace projects, supporting the review and redesign of aerospace components to ensure compliance with REACH regulations, while contributing to the development of industry-leading aerospace systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Review existing engineering drawings for REACH material and process obsolescence.

• Produce Investigation Reports (IRs) to initiate engineering drawing changes with clear technical justification.

• Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies to meet customer specifications and aerospace standards.

• Create, modify and maintain 3D CAD models and engineering drawings using Siemens NX.

• Produce detailed design layouts, manufacturing drawings and assembly documentation.

• Complete tolerance analysis and ensure designs meet functional and manufacturing requirements.

• Prepare and check complete drawing packs and supporting engineering documentation.

• Work in accordance with engineering procedures, aerospace design standards and company processes.

• Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to engineering best practice.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer, Design Engineer, CAD Engineer, Aerospace Design Engineer, or similar engineering role.

• Strong experience using Siemens NX CAD software.

• Experience creating and modifying 3D CAD models and engineering drawings.

• Knowledge of REACH regulations, material obsolescence, or engineering change processes is highly desirable.

• Ability to interpret engineering specifications and technical documentation.

• Experience producing manufacturing drawings, assembly drawings and tolerance analyses.

• Excellent problem-solving and technical communication skills.

• Aerospace, defence or advanced manufacturing experience would be advantageous.

Hours

Day Shift

• Monday to Thursday: 7:00am - 3:30pm

• Friday: 7:00am - 12:00pm

Some flexibility may be required, including occasional work away from site where necessary.

Pay & Benefits

• £35.00-£46.00 per hour (depending on experience).

• Shift allowance included where applicable.
