Introduction

Acorn by Synergie is recruiting for an experienced Environment Operator to join a client's site in Pentwyn, Cardiff.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Environment Operator, Recycling Operative, Waste Management Operative, Site Operative or Facilities Operative to join a busy manufacturing environment. You'll play an important role in maintaining high housekeeping standards, supporting environmental processes and ensuring the safe segregation, recycling and disposal of waste materials across the site.

This hands-on role is ideal for someone who enjoys physical work, takes pride in maintaining a clean and safe workplace, and is committed to following health, safety and environmental procedures.

Key Duties

• Carry out environmental and housekeeping duties in line with company procedures and safe working practices.
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping across the site and environmental areas.
• Segregate and recycle waste materials into the correct recycling streams.
• Safely operate general waste and cardboard compactors.
• Safely operate baling and polystyrene processing machines.
• Assist with the maintenance and cleanliness of site premises.
• Support the efficient removal of selected production waste materials.
• Complete departmental morning office waste collections.
• Service the canteen by collecting and removing waste bins.
• Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) standards.

Requirements

• Previous experience as an Environment Operator, Recycling Operative, Waste Operative, Facilities Operative, General Operative or in a similar role would be advantageous.
• Ability to carry out physical manual work throughout the working day.
• Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions accurately.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Self-motivated with a positive and proactive attitude.
• Strong awareness of health, safety and environmental procedures.
• Reliable with good attention to detail and housekeeping standards.
