  • Varied role combining outdoor fieldwork, stakeholder engagement and project management.
  • Opportunity to contribute to biodiversity, nature recovery and sustainable land management.
  • Professional development and opportunities to build your forestry expertise.
  • The chance to make a tangible difference to England's woodland landscapes.

Key Duties
  • Support landowners in developing and delivering woodland creation projects.
  • Promote the environmental, economic and social benefits of woodland creation.
  • Advise landowners on available grants, funding and incentives.
  • Support forestry projects through relevant regulatory and approval processes.
  • Provide advice on felling licences, forestry regulations and environmental requirements.
  • Assess woodland management plans and proposed forestry activities.
  • Support woodland owners in managing tree health, pests, diseases and climate-related challenges.
  • Promote sustainable woodland management and improve woodland resilience.
  • Support projects that enhance biodiversity and nature recovery.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with landowners, farmers, businesses, local authorities and environmental organisations.
  • Provide professional forestry advice and support across the region.
  • Manage a varied workload, making informed decisions and ensuring projects progress effectively.

Requirements
  • Background or relevant experience in forestry, woodland management, land management, countryside management or a related environmental field.
  • Strong knowledge or interest in woodland creation, management and conservation.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to build trusted relationships with landowners and other stakeholders.
  • Strong organisational and project management skills.
  • Ability to assess information, make sound decisions and solve problems.
