Safety, Health, Environmental & Quality (SHEQ) Manager
Cardiff | Competitive Salary | Office-Based with Site Travel | Permanent
Introduction
Acorn by Synergie is recruiting for an experienced Safety, Health, Environmental & Quality (SHEQ) Manager to join our client's team based in Cardiff.
This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified SHEQ professional to play a key role in ensuring the business operates in full compliance with health, safety, environmental and quality standards. You will work closely with Directors, project teams and supply chain partners to drive continuous improvement across the business while supporting compliance with statutory legislation and ISO standards.
Key Duties
- Monitor company operations to ensure compliance with Health & Safety, Environmental and Quality policies, statutory legislation and industry standards.
- Review SHEQ performance and provide regular reports and updates to Directors and senior management.
- Support the development of Construction Phase Health, Safety & Environmental Plans, Quality Plans and Inspection & Test Plans.
- Assist project teams with planning, implementing and monitoring SHEQ controls.
- Provide specialist SHEQ advice to support business planning and policy development.
- Organise and lead regular SHEQ meetings across the business.
- Plan and deliver actions to maintain compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards.
- Work with specialist advisors to ensure updates to legislation, standards and best practice are implemented across the business.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with supply chain partners.
- Support registration and compliance with industry accreditation schemes, including CHAS and Constructionline.
Requirements
- Degree or equivalent qualification (NVQ Level 6) in Construction or a related discipline.
- Chartered Membership of CIOB or an equivalent industry professional body.
- NEBOSH qualification.
- Competency in developing and implementing inspection, auditing and continuous improvement processes.
- Strong knowledge of health, safety, environmental and quality legislation.
- Excellent communication, organisational and leadership skills.
- Willingness to travel to sites and other business premises as required.
