Introduction

Acorn by Synergie is recruiting on behalf of a leading manufacturer within the pharmaceutical, food and animal health sectors for a Quality Assurance Batch Release Officer to join their Quality team in South Petherton, Somerset.

This is an excellent opportunity for a quality professional with experience in regulated manufacturing environments to take on a varied role encompassing batch release, quality systems, audits, investigations and continuous improvement activities.

As a Quality Assurance Batch Release Officer, you will play a critical role in ensuring products are manufactured and released in compliance with GMP, food and feed safety standards, and internal quality requirements. Working closely with Production, Quality Control and other operational teams, you will help maintain the highest standards of product quality and regulatory compliance.


Key Duties

  • Review batch manufacturing and packaging documentation for completeness, accuracy and compliance.
  • Verify resolution of deviations, non-conformances and out-of-specification results prior to batch disposition.
  • Review testing documentation and Certificates of Analysis (CoA) and support batch release activities.
  • Conduct routine line audits and quality inspections across manufacturing and packaging operations.
  • Provide QA support and guidance to production teams.
  • Escalate and support resolution of quality and compliance concerns.
  • Participate in internal audit programmes and compliance assessments.
  • Assist with audit preparation, documentation reviews and follow-up actions.
  • Support implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs).
  • Collect, analyse and report quality data for Product Quality Reviews (PQRs).
  • Review trends relating to deviations, complaints and batch performance.
  • Support cross-functional improvement initiatives arising from review findings.
  • Assist with investigations into quality incidents and deviations.
  • Support root cause analysis activities and CAPA implementation.
  • Maintain accurate QA records and documentation.
  • Contribute to SOP updates and quality system improvements.
  • Identify opportunities to improve compliance, efficiency and quality performance.

Requirements

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in a STEM-related discipline preferred but not essential.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a quality role within a pharmaceutical, food, nutraceutical or regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Working knowledge of GMP and quality management systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent documentation skills.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Proactive and organised approach with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Experience supporting investigations, audits and CAPA activities would be advantageous.

Working Pattern:

  • 6 am - 2 pm.
  • 2 pm - 10 pm.
