Mechanical Design Engineer

Cullompton area | £35k per annum DOE | 40 hours per week | Monday - Friday | Permanent

Introduction

Acorn by Synergie currently has a fantastic opportunity for a Mechanical Design Engineer with experience of drawing complex mechanisms and machined components. The Mechanical Design Engineer will be able to create assemblies, as well as carry out on-site measuring.

This company has over 30 years' experience in Mechanical Engineering and general fabrication, and they are looking for an experienced Draughtsman who will be able to hit the ground running.

Key Duties:

• Design and specification of materials handling equipment for the animal feed, food processing or similar industries.

• Creating assemblies and detailed drawings of complex mechanisms and machined components.

• Carrying out on-site measuring where required.

• Working with manufacturing processes to ensure accurate and efficient production.

Requirements:

• Good working knowledge of CAD Design using SolidWorks.

• Knowledge of manufacturing processes.

• Good communication skills.

• Experience in the design of materials handling equipment for relevant industries.

• Experience in sheet metal design (desirable).

• Knowledge of CNC Punch Programming (desirable).

• Structural steel design experience (desirable).

• Experience managing or supervising a small team (desirable).
