Multi-Skilled Level 3 Maintenance Engineer

Bridgwater | £42,000 per annum + bonus | 37.5 hours per week | Shift-based


Introduction

Acorn by Synergie is recruiting a Multi-Skilled Level 3 Maintenance Engineer to join a dynamic manufacturing environment. This essential role ensures the continuous, safe, and efficient operation of all production machinery, equipment, and site facilities through proactive mechanical and electrical maintenance, rapid repair, and technical collaboration.


Key Duties:
  • Execute planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across all machinery and infrastructure.
  • Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns and implement effective solutions.
  • Resolve mechanical and electrical issues affecting production efficiency.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing Systems Engineering and other teams to improve reliability and resolve complex faults.
  • Adhere strictly to safety regulations and site procedures.
  • Complete actions from the Corrective Action Report (CAR) system.
  • Communicate maintenance plans and machine handovers to relevant departments.
  • Assist with commissioning, upgrades, and configuration of machinery and site facilities.
  • Maintain detailed records of work completed, parts used, and fault analysis.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the site.

Requirements:
  • Time-served engineering apprentice with NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in mechanical and electrical maintenance within a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of 3-phase 415V electrical systems.
  • PC literate with experience using maintenance management systems (e.g., CMMS).
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and rapid decision-making abilities.
  • Attention to detail and methodical approach.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Hands-on experience with equipment design and build.
  • Commitment to safe working practices.

Shift Pattern & Benefits:
  • Early and late shifts on alternate weeks:
    • Mon-Thu: 6am-2pm / 2pm-10pm
    • Fri: 6am-1pm / 1pm-8pm
  • Approved overtime paid.
  • Competitive salary of £42,000 per annum plus bonus.
