Façade Engineer

Introduction

Acorn by Synergie is recruiting for a Facades Engineer. This is a work from home role with occasional site visits alongside the Project Manager. Our client is the largest general contractor of modern facades in Eastern Europe. The company has existed since 1990 and its shareholder is the leading manufacturer of aluminium-glass facades in Europe, with sectors including Healthcare, Residential, Commercial, Transport, Sports, Mixed Use and Retrofit.

To be successful in this role you will assume general responsibilities for façade consultancy input to a wide range of clients and projects and will pro-actively contribute to the growth of the company's Façade Engineering team's capabilities.

Key Duties:

• Co-ordinating between Client and Company SA Design Team.
• Reviewing design and technical information before submission to ensure compliance with specification, UK standards and law.
• Reviewing client comments and highlighting issues internally and externally.
• Identifying opportunities for value engineering.
• Attending all design, pre-start, site and other required meetings.
• Identifying and attending project testing as required.
• Visiting Poland to meet and liaise with the project team.
• Monitoring project programme and reporting.
• Monitoring budget and reporting.
• Maintaining RFI, TQ, sample and submission registers and dates.
• Recording delays to client.
• Weekly project reporting.
• Managing specialist sub-contractors.
• Supporting tendering by reviewing specifications, drawings and reports.
• Supporting testing development of systems in the UK.
• Completing any other related tasks assigned by superiors.

Requirements:

• MSc Degree in Façade Engineering - UWE Bristol University (required).
• Proven experience within the façade industry, ideally in a dedicated façade consultancy.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to be client-facing and produce clear, concise technical reports.
• Working knowledge of system design considerations, façade performance analysis and testing procedures.
• Proficiency in relevant façade and structural software including Strand7, SJ MEPLA, THERM or Flixo, AutoCAD and Revit.
• Competent in Microsoft Office and related software packages.
