Maintenance Handyperson

Introduction

Acorn by Synergie is recruiting a skilled and versatile Maintenance Handyperson to join a diverse team based in Exeter, Devon. This is a hands-on role requiring a practical approach to general property maintenance and repair across a variety of sites.

This position is ideally suited to someone who enjoys varied daily tasks and takes pride in maintaining safe, functional, and well-presented properties.

Key Duties

• Carry out general repairs and maintenance, including basic carpentry, painting, and minor repairs.

• Complete routine inspections of systems, safety devices, and overall property condition in line with regulatory standards.

• Respond promptly to urgent maintenance requests and prioritise workloads to minimise disruption.

• Assist with moving furniture and equipment when required.

• Maintain tools and equipment to ensure safe and effective use.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years' experience across a variety of property types, including commercial offices, residential buildings, and mixed-use facilities.

• Competent in general maintenance tasks such as basic carpentry, painting, and minor repairs.

• Ability to prioritise workloads effectively and adapt to changing demands.

• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve issues efficiently.

• Good understanding of health and safety regulations, protocols, and compliance.

Working Hours

• Monday to Friday.

• Expected between 37 and 40 hours per week.

What We Offer

• £15 per hour.

• Temporary to permanent opportunity after successful completion of 12 weeks.

• Full-time, Monday to Friday working pattern.
